This year has been a drought year, it's been the driest summer I remember with devastating fires up and down the East Coast of Australia.
One very hot day in December a wallaby came to the back of the house panting in the heat. We put a small container of water out but I didn't see it return, later we put a decent tub out with fish in it the same as we have in 2 other places around the house. This has increased the bird activity here this year and it's been lovely to see so many, but scary to have things so tinder dry.
